Chandel Bouthot of Lewiston, Maine, Spends College Spring Break Volunteering

2013 Apr 26

For 21 years, groups of Saint Joseph's College students have dedicated their spring break to weeklong service projects. This year, more than 25 of our students participated in service trips to:

  • Flat Gap, Ky., to participate in the Christian Appalachian Project, which focuses on building and renovating houses;
  • Westchester County, N.Y., to help build safe, decent and affordable housing with Habitat for Humanity, and to continue delivering aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy;
  • Indian Island, Maine, for an immersion experience at the Penobscot Indian Island Reservation along with the Sisters of Mercy;
  • Camden, N.J., to work alongside other volunteers at The Romero Center.

Chandel Bouthot of Lewiston, Maine, a junior pre-physician assistant student, volunteered in Indian Island, Maine.
